Shindokobo Exchibition

Shindou Kobo, based in Seto, Aichi, is run by husband and wife.
Two years after their last show, they have further developed their exploration of classical motifs such as Shonzui and Iroe.
This exhibition presents a rich variety of works where traditional patterns meet a freer, more contemporary brushwork.
2年ぶりの新道工房展です。
前回の「古典回帰」を経て、今回はさらにその表現を広げました。
祥瑞をはじめ、赤絵や色絵など、多彩な文様と形の器が並びます。
古典の語法に現代の感覚を重ねながら、
軽やかで伸びやかな筆致が冴える作品をご覧ください。

Four artists based in the Kansai region weave traditional sensibilities into contemporary form,
offering works that bring a gentle elegance and warmth to the winter table.

Naoko shimizu solo Exhibition

Naoko Shimizu is a ceramic artist based in Kameoka, Kyoto, specializing in sometsuke (blue-and-white porcelain) and iro-e (multi-colored overglaze painting). Her work is characterized by delicate, soft brushstrokes and the timeless charm of traditional motifs.
For this collection, we asked her to focus on ‘sometsuke’ pieces.
Alongside everyday tableware, she has also enthusiastically explored tea utensils, showcasing her versatility and craftsmanship.

Misa Mizuno solo Exhibition

Misa Mizuno, a glass artist based in Tajimi, Gifu, creates exquisite glassware using the traditional Venetian “Murrini” technique.
She goes beyond classic mosaic glass, incorporating random patterns in modern color schemes, blending cut-glass techniques, and finishing with a matte texture to explore new expressions.

He captures the unique colors of the Tohoku region’s sky, water, soil, and plants in his vessels.
This time, we asked him to craft pieces inspired by the colors of spring in Iwate.

Kota Tanaka solo Exhibition

Kota Tanaka is a ceramic artist based in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture.
He uses unrefined, locally dug clay and shapes his pieces with a traditional kick wheel.
His works are fired in two small kilns — an anagama (tunnel kiln) and a noborigama (climbing kiln).
“I feel like I’ve finally started making something good recently,” Tanaka says.
This will be his first solo exhibition at Momofuku in two years.
We invite you to take this opportunity to appreciate his work. 唐津の相知に坊中窯という名の窯を構える田中さん。
自ら掘ってきた雑味の多い土を生かし、
小ぶりな登窯、穴窯の二基を使い作陶しています。
「いいものができるようになってきた」

This season marks “Kokuu,” one of the 24 solar terms, symbolizing the spring rains that nourish a hundred crops.
Yosuke Kojima from Iga, Mie Prefecture, creates ceramics with a deep commitment to local clay and minerals.
Keiji Okushima from Takashima, Shiga Prefecture, continues to explore the expressive potential of glass.
Inspired by the theme of “Kokuu,” these two artists bring their unique sensibilities to their chosen materials.
We invite you to experience their creations.
On the opening day, Saturday, April 19th, there will be a tea ceremony featuring their works.

春雨の恵みが百穀を潤すという二十四節気の「穀雨」にあたるこの時期。
三重県の伊賀で地元の土や鉱物にこだわり作陶する小島陽介さん。
滋賀県の高島で硝子という素材に挑み続ける奥島圭二さん。
このお二方に「穀雨」をテーマとして、
それぞれの感性を、その素材に炸裂させていただきます。

Takuro Oya solo Exhibition

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by Takuro Oya, a woodworker based in Kameoka, Kyoto.
Oya splits the wood by hand and carves it with a small plane, leaving the traces of the split intact. His work reveals both the strength that emerges from dialogue with the material and a quiet, unadorned beauty.
This exhibition focuses on hand-carved trays finished with fuki-urushi (wiped lacquer). The layered lacquer and subtly undulating surfaces invite a sense of stillness and spaciousness deep within the viewer’s awareness.

京都・亀岡の木工作家、大矢拓郎氏の個展を開催いたします。
自らの手で木を割り、その割れ跡を残したまま小さな鉋で削り出す大矢氏の仕事には、素材との対話から生まれる造形の強さと、素朴な美しさが宿ります。
本展では、拭き漆仕上げの盆を中心にご紹介いたします。
積み重ねた漆と揺らぎある面が、意識の奥に静けさと余白をもたらす器たちです。

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Atsushi Ogata, who continues his work in Uda, Nara Prefecture. This marks his first show at our gallery in two years.
Ogata’s vessels embody the inherent power of nature, drawn into the clay and revealed through fire. Within the framework of functional tableware, a quiet dialogue with the material unfolds—each piece bearing a distinct presence shaped by this exchange.
In addition to his well-known works with dynamic, textured surfaces such as brush-marked forms, this exhibition will feature a selection of serene kohiki pieces. The tension held within the firing process leaves a sense of stillness—an open space that gently stirs something within the viewer.

奈良県宇陀市を拠点に作陶を続ける尾形アツシ氏の個展を開催いたします。当店では2年ぶりとなります。
尾形氏の器は、自然が本来持つ力を土に宿し、火に委ねることで立ち現れる力強さと奥行きをたたえています。
食器という枠の内側で繰り広げられる素材との対話が、器に豊かな表情となって現れています。
今回は、定評のある刷毛目などの力強い景色ある器に加え、静かな佇まいを持つ粉引の作品も並びます。焼成の緊張感の中に残された余白は、手にする人の内側を静かに揺さぶるようです。

We are pleased to present a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Sumire Akita, who lives and works in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture.
Akita studied under Karatsu potter Masahiro Takehana for three years before establishing her own practice. She digs her own clay, paints familiar plants onto her forms, and fires her works in a wood-burning kiln she built herself.
Her pieces gently reflect the natural beauty of Karatsu and the generous spirit often found in old Karatsu ware, reinterpreted through her own unique perspective.
Delicate yet strong brushwork, soft contours, and a quiet presence with an inner core—these qualities come together to form works that we invite you to experience in person.
佐賀県唐津市を拠点に作陶を続ける秋田菫氏の個展を開催いたします。
秋田氏は、唐津の陶芸家・竹花正弘氏のもとで3年間学んだ後、独立。
自ら土を掘り、身近な植物の姿を器に描き、自作の薪窯で器を焼成しています。
その器には、唐津の自然の美しさと、古唐津に見られるおおらかさが、
彼女自身の視点で構築され、柔らかく映し出されています。
繊細でいて力強い筆致、柔らかな輪郭、そして静けさの中に潜む芯のようなもの

Toshiro Abiko (Wood) × Moto Iuchi (Ceramics) Duo Exhibition

In Mito, Ibaraki, Toshiro Abiko carves wood with a gentle touch, bringing to life small objects that seem to carry a quiet humor. His spoons, figures, and utensils are not just tools, but characters—each whispering fragments of a hidden tale.
In Fushimi, Kyoto, Moto Iuchi shapes clay by hand, creating vessels that embody calm and softness. The texture of the soil, the impression of the hand—each piece carries the artist’s gaze and breath, as if holding a memory in form.
Different in material, expression, and rhythm, their works come together in a single space. And when they do, a quiet stage appears—like a scene from a distant land, familiar yet new.
These are objects for daily life, yet they invite the imagination to wander.
We hope you’ll come and experience this gentle world woven from wood and clay—full of subtle humor and warmth.
茨城・水戸で木を削り、彫り、そこに小さな命を吹き込むように、安彦年朗さんはカトラリーやオブジェをつくります。手のひらにのるそれらは、使える道具でありながら、どこか不思議な存在感をまとい、物語の一場面を想像させてくれます。
京都・伏見で手捻りの器を生み出す井内素さんの仕事は、静かでやわらか。土の質感をそのまま生かしながら、軽やかでいて凛とした佇まいを見せてくれます。人の手のかたちがそのまま残る器には、作り手の呼吸やまなざしがそのまま宿っているようです。
素材も、表現も異なるふたりの作品が、ひとつの空間に並んだとき、どこか遠い国の舞台のような、不思議で懐かしい景色が浮かびます。
日々の道具でありながら、見る人の想像力をくすぐるものたち。

Wataru Mizutani solo Exchibition
Wataru Mizutani is a ceramic artist based in Karatsu,
firing pieces in a wood-fired kiln using clay he digs himself.
He has been immersed in ceramics since his early teens,
studying under Jinenbo Nakagawa in his youth and Ryoji Koie in his twenties.
Moving from Hida to Matsue and finally to Karatsu,
he has long explored the dialogue between earth and place.
Day after day, he works with soil and flame,
yet he rarely speaks of what lies within.
This exhibition presents works that transcend
the techniques of Karatsu, Mishima, and Hakeme,
inviting you to sense the voice of the clay itself.
Each piece speaks eloquently of the memories of earth and fire.
唐津に工房を構え、自ら採った土を薪窯で焼き上げる陶芸家・水谷渉氏。
中学生の頃から陶芸に親しみ、10代で中川自然坊氏、20代で鯉江良二氏に師事。
その後、飛騨、松江、唐津と工房を移しながら、土と風土に向き合ってきた。
土を掘り、炎に委ねる日々。その内側で何が起きているのか、彼は語らない。
本展では、唐津、三島、刷毛目といった技法を超え、
「土そのもの」の声が聞こえる器が並びます。

Takeryo Kawaguchi Exhibition
Takeryo Kawaguchi, based in Arita, Saga, presents his first solo exhibition in two years.
In June last year, he built a small climbing kiln beside his studio.
Digging clay, throwing on the wheel, splitting firewood, stoking the flames—
each task demands more time and physical strength than ever before.
Yet when the kiln is opened, unexpected landscapes emerge.
It is this fascination that draws him further in.
This exhibition will feature vessels with richer and more varied expressions than ever.

昨年の6月に工房の一角に小さな登窯を築いた川口さん。

片瀬さんは、愛知県の豊田市で作陶している作家です。
ポップでモダンな色合いの作品は、まるでお菓子の国を大人の味付けにして展開したかのよう。
鮮やかな色彩と軽やかなフォルムの裏には、「遊び」と「秩序」の緊張が息づいています。
